Despite the availability of public health care across the country, there is a serious health gap between the rich and the poor in India. The rich are healthier than the middle class, who are in turn healthier than the poor. The well educated are healthier than the less educated, the employed are healthier than the unemployed and so on. Poverty, unemployment and under-employment deprive many of getting quality medical care in India.

MASS, Mercy Association of Social Service, was started with the aim of giving quality medication to the poor, the disabled and the abandoned. Besides, we focus on health education in schools, colleges and in rural areas. Assistance from the S.A.B.S Congregation of S.H. Province Ernakulam, the management and staff of Mercy Hospital and from well wishers is indeed a source of encouragement and motivation. We believe that rehabilitation of the needy is a social responsibility and that one of our major future plans is to concentrate on areas of rehabilitation.

So far, MASS has brought relief and solace to hundreds of poor, disabled and abandoned. In widening the objectives of MASS, we need your support and encouragement. Donations to MASS are exempt from income tax and MASS has clearance to receive foreign contributions too.
